Pass the Wrench

Every master was an apprentice once. Pass the Wrench lets a Business-tier shop cover a newer shop's first three months on Manuall: everything they need to run their first jobs. The first round's on you, the way someone got you started.

How the Wrench works

It arrives as an event, not an always-on perk:

• Your first Wrench arrives about 30 days after you sign up.
• It's live for about four weeks before it expires.
• Then it rests, and the next one comes around roughly every 90 days. One Wrench per cycle.

The page shows which state you're in: on its way, here now, passed, or resting.

Two ways to pass it

• Pass it to a shop you know (Direct): enter the shop's name and email, and they get an invite to set up their account.
• Drop it in the pool (Pool): Manuall places it with a shop that applied and is just getting started.

Either way, their first three months are on you.

What the shop you help gets

They set up with no card, on the Starter plan, free for three months. After that they add a card to keep going, or the account pauses at the billing page like any unpaid shop. It's the one card-free way onto Manuall; see Sign Up & Billing.

Graduation

When a shop you sponsored starts paying on its own, it shows up on your give-page, which keeps a running list of everyone you've helped.
