When Tiger Claw wins
- Grooved field boards where a uniform automatic gap and a fully concealed, fastener-free top are the priority across a large area.
- Coastal/wet exposure: the stainless clip lines hold up where a coated edge screw would not, and the clip keeps the fastener off the board face entirely.
- Consistent gap-setting across a big field with a crew, since the clip sets the gap mechanically rather than relying on tool feel.
- Where it fails: requires a side groove, so it is useless on solid boards; the clip MUST match the board's specific groove profile or it will not lock and the boards slide; tight, angled, or short-board layouts and stair noses still need a face system like Cortex; a single mid-field board cannot be pulled without disturbing neighbors.
